While building a water cistern, a food dehydrator, a wood saving stove, and a biointensive garden, the new group of environmental education volunteers were prepping for a environmental fair for the local primary school in a rural community in the hills of State of Mexico. One problem, when we got there, we found out that the school wasn't in session that day. There was a competition going on for teachers that day.
The school director believed it was important enough that he called in the teachers and students that day to hold the fair that represented weeks of work. At the beginning of the fair, students clamored to get a sneak peak at the activities. If the expression of the students wasn't an affirmation of the work the volunteers put in, the director's and teachers' genuine invitation back to this group of new volunteers certainly confirmed the success of the event. Nice job.
